SINGAPORE - A Ferrari suddenly burst into flames when its owner was pumping petrol at a petrol kiosk in Havelock Road.

Pump attendant Prakash, 22, told The Straits Times that the driver was "plump" and in his 30s. The flames then spread to the driver's pants, but were put out quickly with a nearby fire extinguisher and he escaped unscathed.

The incident, which happened on Thursday night, began when the Ferrari drove into the petrol kiosk and and asked to fill up his tank.

Mr Prakash said he usually places a towel under the petrol tank before filling it up to prevent any leakage.

However, the Ferrari driver told him it was not necessary. Mr Prakesh started the job of filling the tank, but handed the pump to the driver to finish the job.

This was as there were too many cars to service.

When he turned back, there were flames coming out of the engine. CCTV footage later revealed that the driver had continued to pump petrol even after the auto-pump had stopped, causing petrol to leak out.

Mr Prahask speculated that it could have been the heat of the engine that set the fire off.

SINGAPORE - The actual footage from a cabby's in-car video recorder has surfaced online.

Uploaded onto video-sharing website YouTube, the grainy footage detailed the entire accident.

Warning: Graphic.

Time: About 4.09:01am, 12 May, 2012
A taxi stops at the traffic light junction between a motorcycle and the ComfortDelGro taxi which was about to meet its end.

A conversation in dialect between a man and a woman can heard through the in-car camera's voice recording function.

On the left of the video, a pedestrian crosses the junction.

4.09:17am
Some 15 seconds into the video, the light turns green. The taxi with the in-car camera moves off the line but the other ComfortDelGro taxi is faster.

The blue taxi pulls ahead.

4.09:21am
The ComfortDelGro taxi is about two car-lengths ahead when a sudden blur of red dashes across and smashes into it.

The crash is loud and sickening.

Equally loud. The exclamations of shock followed by relief from the man and the woman in the cab.

"Lucky man," the man said before the video ends.

AdilanClub:Breaking news, is the best for news

It was a sad morning for the three children of taxi driver Cheng Teck Hock who died in last Saturday's Rochor road accident.

Stephanie Cheng, 21, Dao Han, 19 and Dao Long, 17, sent their father off on his final journey on Thursday. The three school-going children were joined by around 20 people including their mother, relatives and friends.

Leaving the family home at Canberra Road at around 9.30am, the cortege made its way to Mandai Crematorium where Mr Cheng was cremated after a simple ceremony.

52-year-old Mr Cheng is one of the three who died in the crash at Rochor Road involving his taxi, a Ferrari and a motorcycle on May 12.

The driver of the Ferrari, Ma Chi, died on the spot while Mr Cheng's passenger, Japanese national Ms Shigemi Ito died in a hospital on the same morning.

Mr Cheng succumbed to major brain injuries and died the next day.

He leaves behind three children and a wife, Madam Lim Choo Eng, 49. He was the family's sole breadwinner.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 — We were ordinary Malaysians, professional, non-professional, rich, middle class and poor. On April 28, I found out that the different classes don’t matter, we all felt the tear gas. I was at the Masjid Jamek LRT station when they fired on us, and they closed the LRT station. I was angry at that time, but now I understood that an open LRT station could have caused more danger to us than a closed one. We could have fallen on the tracks; there could have been more injuries, and even death.

We found out on that day that our skin colour and our beliefs don’t matter. Muslims or non-Muslims, Malays, Indians, Chinese, Ibans, Kadazans, half-Eurasian half-Malay, quarter-Javanese, quarter-Portuguese, we were all one colour — yellow.

Kau Sahabat Kau Teman (Lazim dalam kenangan)

Telah tiba saat waktu kau tinggalkan kami
Kerana takdir yang Maha Esa telah menetapkan
Sedih rasanya hati ini bila mngenangkan
Kau sahabatku kau teman sejati

Tulus ikhlasmu luhur budimu bagai tiada pengganti
Senyum tawamu juga katamu menghiburkan kami
Memori indah kita bersama terus bersemadi
Kau sahabatku kau teman sejati

Perjuangan kita masih jauh beribu batu
Selagi roh masih di jasad hidup diteruskan
Sedih rasa hati ini mengenangkan dikau
Bagai semalam kau bersama kami

Moga amanlah dan bahagia dikau di sana
Setangkai doa juga Fatehah terus kukirimkan
Moga di sana kau bersama para solehin
Ku sahabatku kau teman sejati

AdilanClub: The story of my generation

Unknown | 2:59 AM | Best Blogger Tips

AdilanClub:Breaking news, is the best for news

KUALA LUMPUR, May 3 —  Each generation has a story to tell, a single accomplishment that defines the ethos of their generation. A unifying achievement that is not for their benefit, but for their children that will ultimately inherit the world that they have carefully built and shaped. Even in Malaysia, each generation has a story to tell –  our effort to repel the Japanese, independence from Britain, suppressing communism to spurring the national economy to be part of the Asian Tiger Economies.

That is why on April 28th, 2012 – 80,000+ Malaysians made their way as close as possible to Dataran Merdeka to make their voices heard, calling for the government to reform the election commission to ensure the next general election will be free and transparent. What started as a seemingly peaceful event turned out to be another typical Malaysian protest event – where the might of the police was brought forth to the demonstrators regardless of whether they are women, children or the elderly.
