‘Foolish’ if Najib bans Bersih 3.0, say analysts

Unknown | 7:15 PM | | | | Best Blogger Tips

KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 — Political analysts believe the authorities will not come down hard on Bersih 3.0 protesters like they did last year, saying it would be an “unbelievably foolish” strategy by Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

They agreed that any show of muscle to stop the April 28 protest could spell political suicide for Najib and his team, pointing out that the 13th general election was too close for the prime minister to risk bleeding more support.

“If they did again what they did for the first two [Bersih] rallies, it would be unbelievably foolish... do you think they would be so naïve?

Shahrizat's husband and son rushed to cash out on 3 shops after she said she would 'quit'

Unknown | 12:33 AM | | | Best Blogger Tips

As he had promised, PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli dropped the latest bombshell in the deepening NFC corruption debacle - this time revealing three new properties and how the husband and son of embattled Umno minister Shahrizat Jalil had rushed to "cash out" soon after she announced she would step down from the Cabinet on April 8.

According to Rafizi, the properties had been purchased with loans obtained by leveraging off a RM250million government soft loan granted to the NFC cattle breeding project, which had been awarded to Shahrizat's family to manage in 2006.

Warning! 7 Lies All Women Tell Men

Unknown | 9:04 PM | | | Best Blogger Tips

Let me start by being completely, um, honest. Every once in a while, we ladies have been known to play a little fast and loose with the truth around you guys. Believe me, we do it with the purest of intentions (really!). And rather than try to change us, your best bet—for keeping your woman happy and your sanity intact—is to simply recognize what’s going on and be smooth about it. With that in mind, here are seven lies we commonly tell men, and how to handle them. Just trust me on this stuff, OK?

1. “Give me your completely honest opinion…”

What we really mean: “Tell me what I want to hear.

What to do about it: I know, it’s confusing as hell. We say “seriously,” and “I really want the truth,” but the chances that we actually want the truth are about as good as the chances you want us to tell you that it’s OK, size really doesn’t matter. There are even times when women think we’re prepared for honesty and even then, when it comes out, it just plain sucks. So err on the side of safety (and of grateful-for-the-white-lie affection), and tell me…I’m hotter than that chick, this dress does not make my butt look big, my mom isn’t overbearing at all…and you’ll be golden.

GE-13 seen mid-June after BN's "roughneck" refusal to clean up electoral system

Unknown | 8:20 PM | | | Best Blogger Tips

The "rough and panicky" manner in which beleaguered Prime Minister Najib Razak's government hammered in an election reforms proposal has bolstered the case for snap general elections to be held within the next 2 months, rather than the September timeline recently reported by a BN-controlled newspaper.

According to opposition leaders, the way in which the BN lawmakers "exposed their reluctance to clean up the electoral system" has also opened the door wider for Najib to escape from his assurances to the people and his party that the 13th general election or GE-13 will be held soon.

Najib has come under severe fire for putting the nation in limbo due his indecisiveness over the GE-13 date, with many political pundits believing that this was due to his wish to prolong his hold on the premiership.

Nazri, are you protecting the A-G because he didn't prosecute your son

Unknown | 6:41 PM | | | Best Blogger Tips

Minister in Prime Minister's Department Nazri Aziz has no business to interfere in MACC’s investigations. Do not hit below the belt of the officers as they do not have the recourse to rebut you – STOP BEING A BULLY.

The de facto law minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has no business interfering in Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)’s investigations. Nazri is just a parliamentarian and a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Parliament’s administration and also to coordinate parliamentary affairs.

His job is to kick the butts in Parliament, not use political powers to bully MACC officials who have the courage to fight corruption. Nazri has no standing to tell MACC deputy chief Shukri Abdull how to run or manage anti-corruption cases and to belittle him as “weak”.

Bersih 3.0 rally a hasty decision, says EC deputy

Unknown | 4:39 PM | | Best Blogger Tips

Wan Ahmad said the call for the rally was premature given that the EC has yet to respond to the PSC’s recommendations. — File pic

KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 — Bersih’s decision to hold  a third rally for free and fair elections on April 28  is hasty and rash, Datuk Wira Wan Ahmad Wan Omar has said.

The Election Commission (EC) deputy chairman said Bersih should have instead accepted the 22-point recommendations presented by the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) on electoral reforms and allow the commission to study the recommendations first. He questioned Bersih’s rationale in having a third rally, and pointed out that the EC itself has yet to issue a response to the PSC’s findings.

“They should be patient... they say they are smart but they are close-minded... what they are doing is rushed, hasty and troublesome to people,” Wan Ahmad told The Malaysian Insider.

Gross stupidity might be a good reason for you to march — Abdul Haleem Abdul Rahiman

Unknown | 2:55 PM | | Best Blogger Tips

APRIL 5 — I will join the Bersih 3.0 rally because I can’t stand the gross stupidity that is crippling the entire nation. Honestly, as much as I agree stupidity has no limit, I can’t take this absurdity which has been feed to us in high doses on a daily basis.

Day in, day out the events unfolding in Malaysia make you sick and drive you insane. With all the transformation programmes and what-not, I believe we are on full speed in a very wrong direction. Almost every institution in this country is failing. Religious bigotry is at its peak. Most MPs, if not all, are busy politicking rather than working. Corruption is nothing but the norm. A priority list is something unfamiliar in our daily life in Malaysia. Common sense is not so common anymore.

The transformed cronies — Sam Peh

Unknown | 2:13 PM | Best Blogger Tips

APRIL 5 — Remember how Dr Mahathir Mohamad gatecrashed Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s sleepover at Putrajaya in 2006 and claimed that Abdullah’s family had an undue influence on business and contracts.

Many people including me felt that Mahathir was just vindictive and was overstating the influence of Khairy Jamaluddin and Kamaluddin Abdullah. But it appears that Mahathir was right and that the so-called Mr Clean’s inner circle was running a lucrative lobby/influence peddling scheme.
